Grand Theft Auto 6 lands on November 19, but PC players are getting their own pre-launch deals. According to PC Gamer, the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition and GTA 4 Complete Edition are both heavily discounted on Steam, and the sale runs until GTA 6 launches.
The sale doesn't have a stated start date in the report, but the discounts are live now and end on November 19.
What's on sale
- GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition (GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas): $19.79 / £19.79 / €19.79, 67% off the regular price.
- GTA 4 Complete Edition (includes The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony): $6 / £5.09 / €6, 70% off.
According to IsThereAnyDeal, the Trilogy's $19.79 price is as low as it has ever gone. GTA 4's deal is close to its best price too.
The details
The Trilogy had a rough launch in 2021, but its Steam reputation has recovered. Vice City and San Andreas both hold "very positive" ratings. GTA 3 sits at "mixed," which PC Gamer ties to the game being 25 years old and the first 3D entry in the series.
GTA 4 Complete Edition is the stronger pick if you want just one older GTA. It's less than half the price of the Trilogy and marks the shift in design and tone that led the series to where it is today.
The deals are Steam-only for now. PC Gamer found no sign of them on the Xbox or PlayStation stores. It also notes there is no digital version of GTA 4 on the PS Store.
What it means for players
If you're on PC and haven't played the older games, this is the cheapest window you're likely to get before GTA 6. Grab the Trilogy for three games at under $20, or GTA 4 for $6 if you want the 2008 classic on its own.
Keep in mind that GTA 6 itself is not coming to PC. It launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, so these sales are the closest PC players get to the GTA 6 release week.
