GTA 6 Fast Travel: Buses, Trains, Trams, Taxis and RydeMe Explained
Published
Unconfirmed: treat this as a rumor until Rockstar confirms it.
You don't have to drive everywhere in GTA 6. According to GTA BOOM, bus stops, train stations, trams, taxis and the RydeMe app all offer fast-travel options across Leonida.
Public transport that actually runs
Transit is part of the world, not just background traffic. GTA BOOM reports that buses and trains make functioning journeys through Leonida. During development, Phil Hooker checked that buses arrive on their routes and rode them across the city.
Bus stops, train stations and trams all provide fast-travel points, so you can use the network to get around without taking the wheel.
RydeMe: taxi fast travel with a twist
RydeMe is a taxi app with a fast-travel function. Per GTA BOOM, you can also talk with another passenger during the ride, so the trip can be something you actually take in rather than skip straight past.
Getting your own car back with Scooter Bros
Scooter Bros is a delivery service for a vehicle you already own. A driver brings it to your location for a fee, then leaves on a scooter they carried along for the trip. GTA BOOM notes that delivery involves a short wait.
That wait is the reason to plan ahead. GTA BOOM suggests leaving a getaway car nearby before a robbery, so you aren't relying on an app call once the hold-up is underway.
What's still unclear
GTA BOOM doesn't publish a route map, timetable, fare list or the exact steps for skipping a journey, so those details remain unconfirmed for now.
What it means for players
- Transit and taxis give you a way around the map without owning a car in the city.
- RydeMe trips can double as downtime, since you can talk to passengers along the way.
- Park a getaway car before a job. Scooter Bros is handy, but it takes a moment.
